When the Winnipeg Jets won in Buffalo last month, they snapped the Sabres three-game winning streak and curbed any offensive confidence the Eastern Conference foe might have been building. It turns out that run was the beginning of whats been a larger turnaround for the Sabres, who head to Winnipeg tonight with hopes of posting their longest winning streak in three seasons. Viewers in the Jets region can watch the game live on TSN3 at 6pm ct. Buffalo (13-16-2) defeated Ottawa 5-4 in a shootout on Monday to conclude a 4-0-0 homestand, setting it up for its first five-game winning streak since March 19-27, 2012. This group of guys, theyre starting to believe in themselves, Sabres coach Ted Nolan said. Its Buffalos third winning streak of at least three games in the last month, and it amounts to a 10-3-0 record dating to Nov. 15. Only Chicago has more wins in that time. Offensively, the Sabres have averaged 2.62 goals per game during that run after scoring 19 goals in their first 17 games. Matt Moulson and Marcus Foligno both scored Monday and have three goals in three games. Tyler Ennis had an assist to give him six points on a four-game streak. The latest win did include blowing a 3-1 second-period lead, but the focus after was understandably positive after escaping with two points. You turn the corner and you just hope you keep taking off, said Foligno, whose three-game goal streak comes after managing two in his first 22 games. Its been a while since the feeling has been like this in this room. Road games, however, remain a struggle for the Sabres, who are 4-9-0 with just 19 away goals. So have been games against the Jets. Buffalo is 1-7-1 with 11 goals scored in the series since Jan. 7, 2012. Its been especially bad in Winnipeg, where the Sabres are 0-4-0 with three goals scored since the Jets relocated. That bodes (15-10-6) well for the Jets, who are looking to recover from Saturdays 4-1 loss to Anaheim to open a four-game homestand. Winnipeg, though, has dropped three of four. Bryan Little scored against the Ducks and also tallied against the Sabres last month as part of a 10-game stretch with seven goals and three assists. He wants to see improvement against top teams, and classifying the Sabres as such at the moment might be a safe move. Everything we do when were playing good, we have to do even better when were playing against a top team, Little told the teams official website. I dont know if we change our game, if we try to do too much or too little, but thats something we need to figure out. If were going to have a shot at this thing, we need to figure out how to beat the top teams in the league. Coach Paul Maurice has been alternating between Ondrej Pavelec and Michael Hutchinson in net, so Pavelec figures to face the Sabres. He hasnt lost in regulation since Nov. 23 and has a 2.44 GAA over the 2-0-2 stretch. Against Buffalo, hes got a 1.38 GAA during a 7-1-0 run. For the Sabres, Jhonas Enroth has been in goal for the entire winning streak and is 9-2-0 with a 2.20 GAA in his last 11 appearances. One of those losses was to the Jets, which dropped him to 0-3-1 in the series, despite a 2.02 GAA. Should Buffalo switch things up, Michal Neuvirth was 6-2-1 with a 2.74 GAA against the Jets in his time with Washington. Neuvirth has played once since Nov. 18 - a 3-2 loss in Florida on Dec. 6. The Jets figure to have defenseman Grant Clitsome after a six-game absence due to an undisclosed ailment. Pistorius denied the allegation that he said to the close friend of the girlfriend he killed: "How can you sleep at night?" The accusation by Kim Myers provided a bizarre twist during the trial of the world-famous double-amputee Olympian, who is facing 25 years to life in prison if convicted of premeditated murder for shooting dead Steenkamp, a 29-year-old model, at his home last year. http://www.officialgoldenknightspro.com/ . The Boston Celtics hadnt played since the All-Star break. So the Suns 100-94 victory over Boston Wednesday night was an uphill affair, with Phoenix relying on balance rather than its trademark high energy. Max Pacioretty Jersey . The Laval Rouge et Or defensive back/kick-returner gained the invitation following his showing Sunday at an NFL regional combine in Baltimore. Oscar Lindberg Jersey . - Titans quarterback Jake Locker will miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot, leaving Tennessee trying to rally with Ryan Fitzpatrick.PHOENIX - Almost all football fans know Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Marshawn Lynch and Rob Gronkowski. The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks wouldnt be playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday if it werent for their superstars. But both teams got here with lesser-known players coming up big at key times.Jermaine Kearse caught a touchdown pass in overtime in Seattles win over Green Bay in the NFC championship game. Julian Edelman threw a TD pass in New Englands division-round win over Baltimore.Theres Rob Ninkovich, Michael Bennett and several others. Often, surprise players are the stars in the Super Bowl.Just look at last year when Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith was the unlikely MVP in Seattles win over Denver. Smith returned a Peyton Manning interception for a touchdown and recovered a fumble in a 43-8 rout. Now the former seventh-round pick hardly plays on defence.Thats the beauty of our team that anybody can have an MVP-type of day, Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin said Wednesday. Thats what makes us special. I wouldnt be surprised if somebody nobody talks about is MVP.Brady, Wilson, Lynch, Gronkowski and LeGarrette Blount have the five best odds of winning the MVP award. But Smith is listed at 100:1 by Bovada. To get to this point and to win these games, its not about anything more than that, Smith said. That is how we can be successful.Ninkovich, one of New Englands top pass rushers, is also at 100:1 odds. He had eight sacks in each of the past three seasons and will be a key factor in trying to contain Wilson. You cant run past him, Ninkovich said. Those are when the big plays happen. You have to be under control, but also not just stand there and not do anything to affect him in the pocket. So you just have to be smart.Bennett has helped solidify Seattles defence since arriving from Tampa Bay before the 2013 season. The defensive end gets overlooked on a unit known for the Legion of Boom secondary featuring Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.I dont really worrry about the atmosphere of the game, Bennett said.dddddddddddd. I think for us we treat every game exactly the same and weve been in every situation we could possibly be in.Heres a list of some surprise stars from past Super Bowls:DEXTER JACKSON: Jackson had two interceptions to help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Oakland Raiders 48-21 in the 2003 Super Bowl. Teammate Dwight Smith returned two picks for touchdowns against Rich Gannon and Oaklands top-ranked offence, but Jackson got the MVP award. Jackson signed a $14 million, five-year deal with Arizona in free agency, but was released after one season and returned to the Buccaneers.LARRY BROWN: Brown became the first cornerback to win Super Bowl MVP when his two interceptions helped the Dallas Cowboys beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 in 1996. Brown leveraged that performance into a $12 million, five-year contract with the Raiders in free agency, but lasted only two seasons in Oakland and started just one game.DAVID TYREE: Tyree only had 54 career catches, but hell forever be remembered for the helmet grab that helped the New York Giants beat the Patriots 17-14 in the 2008 Super Bowl, snapping New Englands perfect season. Giants quarterback Eli Manning was the MVP of the game.TIMMY SMITH: After running for only 126 yards as a rookie in 1987, Smith set a Super Bowl rushing record with 204 yards and scored two TDs to help the Washington Redskins beat Denver 42-10. Quarterback Doug Williams was the MVP of the game. Smith played only two more seasons in the NFL and ran for another 476 yards total.ROD MARTIN: Martin had more interceptions (three) against Ron Jaworski in Oaklands 27-10 win over Philadelphia in the 1981 Super Bowl than he had in his first four seasons in the NFL. Martin eventually went to two Pro Bowls and was a productive player for eight more seasons. Quarterback Jim Plunkett was MVP of the win over the Eagles.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org___Follow Rob Maaddi on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AP_RobMaaddiCheap Buffalo Sabres GearWholesale Calgary Flames JerseysCheap Adidas Colorado Avalanche JerseysMontreal Canadiens Outlet StoreWholesale New Jersey Devils JerseysAdidas Arizona Coyotes JerseysCheap Adidas Boston Bruins JerseysCheap Adidas Carolina Hurricanes JerseysChicago Blackhawks Shop Free ShippingWholesale Columbus Blue Jackets JerseysDallas Stars Shop Free ShippingCheap Adidas Detroit Red Wings JerseysAnaheim Ducks Jerseys ChinaWholesale Edmonton Oilers JerseysFlorida Panthers Shop Free ShippingWholesale Los Angeles Kings JerseysMinnesota Wild Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Nashville Predators JerseysCheap Adidas New York Islanders JerseysNew York Rangers Winter Classic JerseysCheap Adidas Ottawa Senators JerseysCheap Adidas Philadelphia Flyers JerseysWholesale Pittsburgh Penguins JerseysCheap Adidas San Jose Sharks JerseysSt. Louis Blues Winter Classic JerseysWholesale Tampa Bay Lightning JerseysToronto Maple Leafs Outlet StoreVancouver Canucks Outlet StoreCheap Adidas Vegas Golden Knights JerseysCheap Adidas Washington Capitals JerseysCheap Adidas Winnipeg Jets Jerseys ' ' '
