Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Brad Marchand scored two goals to lift the Boston Bruins to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Chris Kelly tallied the game-winning goal late in the third and Tuukka Rask made 30 saves for the Bruins, who were coming off a 5-2 win over the Islanders on Thursday. I think we battled for every inch of the ice we had to get tonight and we had to earn it, Boston head coach Claude Julien said. It was nice to see our team compete for that whole 60 minutes and stay on top of their game. Jordan Nolan lit the lamp and Jonathan Quick stopped 30-of-32 shots for the Kings, who have dropped five of their last six games. They just scored more goals than us, Nolan said. We had a few opportunities that we shouldve buried and that was the difference in the game. Nolan tied the game with seven minutes remaining in the final stanza. Drew Doughty raced through the neutral zone and sent the puck to Nolan, who entered the zone and blasted the puck over the glove of Rask from the left-wing boards. Boston reclaimed the lead for good just 1:33 later as Kelly redirected Carl Soderbergs right point shot into the net for a 2-1 score. Rask stopped Los Angeles defenseman Alec Martinez in close with under two minutes to play and Marchand scored on an empty net with 16.7 seconds left to seal the win. The Bruins threatened late in the opening stanza as Quick made two saves on Loui Eriksson. Marchand took the loose puck and fired the puck in the net, but time already expired and the game was scoreless at the first intermission. Marchand did, however, score with 2:40 left in the second. Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara took a short pass from Gregory Campbell and slipped the puck to Marchand, who snapped a shot from the top of the left circle past a screened Quick. Game Notes The Bruins improved to 9-1-4 over their last 14 games ... Boston has won four of its last six games against Los Angeles ... Marchand had a game-high seven shots ... Eriksson left the game late in third after taking a hit from Kings defenseman Robyn Regehr along the boards. Sven Andrighetto Jersey . Omar Rahou made the discriminatory gesture several times while celebrating scoring a goal against Romania at Antwerp in January, UEFA said. The sanction was double the five-match ban Nicolas Anelka received from an English Football Association independent tribunal last week for the same act. Nathan MacKinnon Jersey . Detroits powerful offence made that unnecessary. Scherzer allowed two hits and struck out seven, and the Tigers backed their star right-hander with three early homers in an 8-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. http://www.authenticavalanchepro.com/Joe-sakic-avalanche-jersey/ . Tennis Australia chief executive Craig Tiley told local media in comments published Wednesday that John Tomic would not be allowed into Melbourne Park in any official capacity or as a spectator. Peter Forsberg Jersey . "I honestly dont know," he said. Try this: 20 points, nine assists and seven rebounds by Rajon Rondo, a 62-37 rebounding advantage by the Celtics and a horrible 4-for-30 shooting performance on 3-pointers by the Nets. J.T. Compher Jersey . Burris threw for 247 yards in one half of a game -- on pace for a nearly 500-yard outing -- as the Redblacks downed the woeful Montreal Alouettes 26-10 in CFL pre-season play Friday night at Percival Molson Stadium.TSN football analyst Chris Schultz is back with his Week 11 selections in the CFL. The Big Man finished 4-0 in Week 10, and sits at 25-16 on the season in Schultz vs. The World. Now Schultz is ready for more action, including his pick of the Bombers beating the Roughriders in the game of the week. Calgary at Edmonton Satisfaction for the Stampeders and urgency for the Eskimos. Eskimos QB Mike Reilly should be back and it will make a difference. The last time Edmonton lost to Calgary, they came back and played their best game of the year, beating Montreal 33-23. The Eskimos must do a better job on John Cornish and within the defensive front seven as a group. After watching the Labour Day September 1 game, I anticipate a better Eskimo performance. It is tough to beat the same team two times in five days and although by the 4th, it turned into an easy Stampeders quarter, this one could be different. Edmonton over Calgary in game three of the season series. BC at Ottawa The Redblacks have one win against the Argos and that was way back on July 18 and was by one point. The Lions are coming off a loss and the bye week, so lots of time to get healthy and think of the loss. I am interested to see how much Travis Lulay will play and how effective he will be. With 10 weeks to go and nine games to play, the decision could be a critical one. The Reblacks are looking for players and looking for wins. The Lions know about their players and need a win to keep pace in the very competitive West . Goot to go with logic… Lions win.dddddddddddd Hamilton at Montreal Yes, Zach Collaros had a good game this week and the Ticats defense had a great game, not allowing a field goal to Toronto in the 4th quarter. A new confident football team in Hamilton but so is Montreal. Both teams on defense have played well and it will get down to offenses and execution. This will be Jonathan Cromptons third start in a row, while Collaros will begin his second. The running back combination of Tyrell Sutton and Brandon Whitaker could make the difference for Montreal. Ryan Dinwiddie did a good job last week keeping them involved in the offense and I expect the same this week. Hamilton has the more experienced and polished quarterback but overall, Montreal has the better team. Montreal in the 4th by 3. Saskatchewan at Winnipeg Round 2. I think this will be the best game of Week 11. Urgency is huge for Winnipeg. At 6-4, they are behind Edmonton, Saskatchewan and Calgary but only one game ahead of BC. With the Lions playing at Ottawa, any cooperation from the Redblacks is unlikely, so to stay in the fourth place position and avoid a tie, this is the game to win for the Bombers. Yes, the Bombers must stop the Riders run game and must keep it close going into the 4th to give Drew Willy the opportunity for his fifth 4th quarter win, but it may not be necessary as the highest scoring team in the league is the Blue Bombers with 260 points. Winnipeg over Saskatchewan in the 4th. ' ' '
