NAIROBI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Senior Challenge Cup 2014 edition will not be held in 2014 owing to lack of a venue to host the tournament.
CECAFA President Leodegar Tenga told journalists on Sunday in Nairobi after the association' s Extra-Ordinary General Assembly that the rising costs of holding the tournament was the sole reason the annual event will not take place.
"At this time of the year we hold the annual general assembly to coincide with the tournament. However, this year we are unable to hold the championship because we failed to secure a host who would be able to fund the event by hosting 12 teams in one place cheap jordan shoes for kids ," Tenga told journalists.
"We have to do something to reduce costs by way of looking at the structure of the event and coming up with one that is cost-effective as well as to develop football in the process," the chairman said.
He said in as much as CECAFA managed to secure some funding, it was not enough to host the event, and added that the presidents of CECAFA are in agreement that something ought to be done to cut costs.
