Eagles’ apparent tag-and-trade plan for Nick Foles would violate the CBA - PFTSecond Womens Brandon Graham Jersey , Foles and his agents should challenge the franchise tag, if it’s applied. Article 4, Section 8, subsection (b) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement states as follows: “A Club extending a Required Tender must, for so long as that Tender is extended, have a good faith intention to employ the player receiving the Tender at the Tender compensation level during the upcoming season.” If the Eagles would simply be tagging Foles to trade him, Foles should invoke this provision and fight the tag, via an expedited grievance that would be resolved before the start of free agency. What could the Eagles say in response? Whatever it is, Foles should force them to try to come up with something other than what their strategy for the tag would apparently be: A placeholder aimed at getting the Eagles a draft pick now instead of a compensatory pick later. If the Eagles attempt with the straight face to argue that this isn’t the plan, Foles should use this ESPN report as the starting point for a scorched-earth effort to review text messages and emails to determine whether and to what extent the Eagles have spoken to other teams about a tag and trade. What the Eagles should do at safety - BGNThe Eagles really need to start thinking about the future of the safety position. Jenkins will turn 32 in 2019. McLeod, who is set to be a free agent after this season, will turn 29 in June. The Eagles could look to draft a safety as high as the No. 25 overall pick. Delaware’s Nasir Adderley is getting buzz as the top safety prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft. Alabama’s Deionte Thompson is also in that conversation. Philly won’t be drafting a rookie safety to start right away; ideally they’d play a rotational role behind Jenkins and McLeod in 2019 before taking over as a full-time starter in 2020.The QB Scho Show #12: Brady, Goff Womens Corey Graham Jersey , Foles & the 2019 QB Class - BGN RadioMichael Kist is joined by Mark Schofield to talk about Super Bowl quarterback performances and the futures of Jared Goff, Tom Brady, Nick Foles and what role the 2019 QB Draft Class plays in all of it! Powered by SB Nation and Bleeding Green Nation.Game of Tag - Iggles BlitzFlorio loves to stir the pot. He’s a lawyer by trade and brings that mentality to his analysis. I heard his radio show recently and he talked about how the draft is un-American and should be abolished. He’s right on that to an extent, but while the draft is bad for players, it is good for the league and the overall sport. Nobody is going to get rid of it. It will be interesting to see if Foles or his agent try to argue the Eagles shouldn’t be able to tag him. Foles is loved by the organization. He loves the organization. But this is business and that can lead to some hurt feelings. Stay tuned.Where will Nick Foles land? Our beat writers break down the market - The AthleticBroncos – While there’s this belief that John Elway is “smitten” with a quarterback in the class of 2019, the truth is he has yet to really formulate a true opinion of them. The Broncos are knee-deep in free agency evaluations, and Elway has long viewed the veteran market as the first crack at fixing a roster. Earlier this year, Elway told Peter King that Case Keenum is “probably a short-term fix,” setting the stage for another quarterback change, maybe as soon as March, be it through free agency or trade (Keenum has one year left on his contract with $10 million in dead money). I would expect the Broncos to seriously consider their options with veteran quarterbacks before setting their sights on the draft prospects — especially if they’re not in love with any of the rookie options this year. They have the cap space and could find more by cutting some veterans on the roster. But some context to consider regarding Foles: The Broncos scouted Foles ahead of the 2012 draft, but ended up selecting Brock Osweiler in the second round instead. What Foles has accomplished with the Eagles — coupled with the failed results of nearly every quarterback who has come through Denver not named Peyton Manning — could have changed their view of him. —Nicki JhabvalaExclusive One-On-One: Carson Wentz - PE.comCarson Wentz sat down with Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro to discuss his plans for the future in this exclusive interview.Big Contract Nick: Breaking Down the Foles-Eagles Situation - The RingerNick Foles, the half-man http://www.philadelphiaeaglesteamonlines.com/derek-barnett-jersey , half-legend, and fully endowed real-life Rocky who delivered Philadelphia its first Super Bowl title last year, is likely in his final days as an Eagle. It is not often that a team separates from its former Super Bowl MVP. It is even rarer for a team to part ways with a healthy 30-year-old quarterback who has a statue outside the stadium. Yet it seems that the Eagles and their postseason savior could move on from each other any day, and the mechanisms of his departure are complicated. Here are some questions and answers about the confusing ending to a legendary story.Eagles playing keep away from Giants with Nick Foles? - Big Blue ViewBleeding Green Nation’s Brandon Lee Gowton said “I don’t think the Eagles place the tag on Foles unless they 100 percent know they can trade him.” Gowton isn’t buying the idea that the Eagles are trying to play keep away from the Giants with Foles. “I don’t think they care enough to put the tag on him simply to prevent him from going there,” Gowton told Big Blue View. From the Giants perspective, this might be much ado about nothing. Recent reporting from Paul Schwartz of the New York Post indicates that the Giants intend to bring Manning back in 2019 and look in the draft for a potential successor.2019 Potential Cuts: Offensive Tackle - Over The CapThe only reason I bring up Jason Peters is because his cap number is so high that the Eagles will likely have to address his contract. Peters has accepted new deals in the past though at 37 I’m not sure how far the team would want to go. Id put this as a pretty low probability cut but not a surprising contract modification.2019 Free Agency Profile: Golden Tate - PFFNo, Golden Tate didn’t wow in his 10-game stint with the Philadelphia Eagles this past season, but the 30-year-old veteran still has plenty to offer in the right system in 2019. He’s been the league’s best receiver in terms of forced missed tackles and yards after the catch for quite some time now, and such talents could be reignited if given the right opportunity.NFL Power Rankings Poll: Patriots No. 1, Rams No. 4 After Super Bowl - Sports Illustrated7. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (9-7).What we know about the ongoing drama between Antonio Brown and the Steelers - SB NationWas that a function of Cincinnati finding the extra space to double down on Pittsburgh’s playmakers without Brown on the field? Was it due to Brown’s behavior affecting the rest of the team’s desire to play, as one unnamed player suggested to the Post-Gazette? Or did the Bengals just play a little harder with the chance to derail a rival’s playoff hopes on the line? No one’s quite sure. But what is clear is that Brown and the Steelers will likely have to work through some issues if they’re going to reconcile for a happy and prosperous 2019....Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBGN Twitter: Follow @BleedingGreenBGN Manager: Brandon Lee Gowton: Follow @BrandonGowtonBGN Radio Twitter: Follow @BGN_Radio The Philadelphia Eagles’ cap situation is, as always, a fluid situation. Howie Roseman has taught a masterclass in restructuring existing deals and constructing new contracts with an eye towards the future. All that said Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , the Eagles aren’t in a fantastic cap situation if they are to achieve maneuverability in free agency. One roadblock standing in the way of that freedom is the aging Jason Peters. As such, an analyst at Over the Cap has lightly suggested that he may be a potential cut.Retaining Peters at his current contract comes with a $13M hit, which is no small sum. If the Eagles were to cut him, they would save $10.5M against the cap while incurring $2.67M in dead money. On the surface, it’s not a bad suggestion. Conversely, the organization’s loyalty to Peters runs deep, and rightfully so.Our own Brandon Gowton gave his outlook on the situation recently.I doubt that the Eagles outright cut Peters, but his contract isn’t what’s best for the team right now. If he doesn’t retire, restructuring his deal and finding another piece at offensive tackle is the right move for the organization. Roseman pulls these off all the time and did so recently with Rodney McLeod. I have faith he’ll be able to offer a fair deal to Peters that is beneficial to both sides.
