What could the Eagles say in response? Whatever it is, Foles should force them to try to come up with something other than what their strategy for the tag would apparently be: A placeholder aimed at getting the Eagles a draft pick now instead of a compensatory pick later. Howie Roseman has taught a masterclass in restructuring existing deals and constructing new contracts with an eye towards the future. As such, an analyst at Over the Cap has lightly suggested that he may be a potential cut.Retaining Peters at his current contract comes with a $13M hit, which is no small sum. If the Eagles were to cut him, they would save $10.5M against the cap while incurring $2.67M in dead money. On the surface, it’s not a bad suggestion.
